In July/August 2008 we hope to do a very small survey of SIN members. This is
to provide the committee with some information on how we might move the
group forward. If you have comments or suggestions on what you feel we should
be asking, please let us know.
Facebook
Facebook – love it, hate it or possibly not even aware of it? SIN
has just set up a Facebook Group for the Scottish Information Network. This
networking group will allow you to see other Facebook members who are also
members of SIN. Perhaps you bumped into someone at a recent event and can’t
remember their name? Or perhaps you are going to an event and want to be
able to recognize some people before you arrive? Facebook will allow you
to do such things. However, please note you will only be able to see those
members who wish their details to be displayed. For reasons of privacy this
group has been set up as a closed group on Facebook. This means only approved
(i.e. SIN members) can join. All members will be invited to join but if
you would prefer not be invited please e-mail John
Coll. If you currently don’t have a Facebook entry the invitation
will prompt you to create one. Remember, you choose how much information
you wish to appear on Facebook and this information is only shared with
members of SIN. Facebook is not designed to replace our networking events
but we believe it could add value to such networking.

03-06-06 June 5th Event - cancelled. Apologies to members. We have been
forced to cancel our seminar on "Outsourcing" scheduled for Monday
5 June. We are very sorry that this has been cancelled so late but some of
you will have gathered from the lack of a reminder that there a been a question
mark over the event for sometime. Unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control
we were forced to make the difficult choice of pulling the plug on the event.
We are still keen to look at this topic and hope to reschedule it for a later
date. Under normal circumstances, we had not planned another event until September.
However, we are now pleased to say we have arranged a further event for July
