(Acrobat PDF) - "FOISA and the Information Service" - Graeme Hawley,
Corporate Information Officer, National Library of Scotland
Graeme talked to the group about the Freedom of Information Scotland Act and its impact on Libraries and information services. He also included the impact of this legislation for businesses in terms of public procurement.
After the presentation there was time for a short discussion on the proposed Scottish Information Network constitution. One amendment was suggested, to clarify that only personal membership would be offered by the group, rather than personal and corporate membership. The date of the next meeting, which would include the first AGM, was confirmed as Mon 21st March. Volunteers to join the committee are welcome, particularly professionals working in health or law - sectors that are not yet represented by the five committee candidates.
As ususal, there was plenty of opportunity to chat over a drink after the formal part of the evening.
